Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) as well as Chris Watson (born in Paris). As a child, she went to her school, the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma was only six when she made the decision to pursue a career as an actress. She trained for several years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a full-time school of theatre in Oxford where she studied acting as well as singing. Emma was chosen to play alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. The film's release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's cinematic screen debut. This film was 2001's highest production, and it broke records at the opening and the very first weekend. The critics were impressed by the movie and its performances. The Daily Telegraph, an important British paper, called Emma's performance "amazing". Emma's performance was recognized and was awarded five awards for the film.
